If you want to accept orders from your existing website to the Delivety platform automatically, you need to first add your menu items using the Menu Builder and assign them an API ID. The API ID is a number that identifies each dish on your website, and your website will send this number to Delivety when someone orders that dish.
To make this happen, your website needs to send webhooks, which are "messages" that tell Delivety when an order has been placed. You can find instructions for how to do this in the Delivety API documentation, which you should share with your website developers. It typically takes around six to eight hours for most websites to make the necessary changes and test them.
If you need help adding Delivety webhooks to your website, you can ask Delivety's Integration Team to do it for you, but this is a paid service for customers.
STEP 1. CHANGE YOUR DOMAIN SETTINGS IN THE DELIVETY ADMIN PANEL
To set up your website to receive orders to the Delivety platform, you need to go to your Admin Panel and select Domains from the menu on the left side of the screen. Then, choose the domain name that you want to receive orders from, and make sure that the name is correct (for example, "your-food-delivery.com").
Next, you should change the order receiving method to "Integration with your existing website using Delivety API".
When you've made this change, save the new settings by clicking on the "Save Settings" button.
STEP 2. ADD API IDs TO YOUR DISHES
To set up your dishes to work with Delivety, you need to assign each dish a unique API ID using the Menu Builder. First, log into the Delivety App using the URL your-domain.delivety.com/app, but replace "your-domain" with the name of your Delivety domain.
Then, select the user who has access to the Menu Builder Dashboard and log in. Open the Menu Builder and select a dish. From there, assign a unique API ID that corresponds with the same dish on your existing website.
Your website will then send this unique API ID to Delivety each time the dish is ordered. Once you've assigned the API ID, click on the Save button. Repeat this process for each dish you want to add to Delivety.
STEP 3. TEST API IDs
After your website, developers have set up the Delivety API and your website can send webhooks, you should perform a test order to make sure everything is working properly. Place an order that includes all of your dishes to check if Delivety receives them correctly. If any dishes are missed or duplicated, double-check the API IDs and correct them if necessary. Also, ensure that customer information and order details are received properly.
Once you have confirmed that everything is working as expected, you can begin accepting orders from your food ordering website to Delivety automatically. This means that when customers place orders on your website, the orders will immediately appear in the Operator Dashboard.
